Call of Duty World at War Guns!Blood!Voilence! First Person Shooter
Date of Review: Jul 7, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you like first person shooters get this game.
The great legacy of Call Of Duty continues! Activision has produced another great COD. These call of duties keep getting better and better. A very well built game bye Activision that is a first person shooter game that excels at on line play. With a plot line in Campaign that will keep you wondering what's going to happen next. Your also not just fighting in one battle like some other first person shooter games, this game takes you around the world. Most of the time on foot but there are times that you can drive tanks, and some "hummer" vehicles with 50 calls and grenade launchers.
For one thing they did a good job on the graphics a great job indeed. Almost as well as Far Cry 2 a game very well known for it's graphics. The graphics are just bad $$$. The graphics are just awesome in this game. Who can complain about gore. My computer doesn't have to much trouble playing this game, but my computer buddy built it for me. Getting a feeling like your running through the jungles and deserts, in almost breath taking views, or engaging in a fight in a town is never boring. Where snipers and tanks are putting you to a standstill at the harder levels as you try to advance through town. Or try to fight off hordes of men in the jungle. They really did a great job with their engines. With great graphics and smooth playing. Making your playing time seem more reel and intense than ever. I would have to say that Activision has some good graphics and engines in this game. I haven't found any bad glitches were you can get stuck. Unfortunately on-line has some losers that look for glitches. It's not that fun when your running you dye, and it was from someone 30 feet under the ground.
This has a very addicting game play thrill. Run through the game on campaign in a incredible gaming sensation. Play as a crazy Russian, or a Marine in the battle of Stalingrad, or jump in on the raid of Makin Island, and how many war games have Nazi zombies. Or just a bunch of random killing on the campaigns. Running and laying down cover fire as your trying to rush to your next cover zone, which have some AI that will tear you a new one. You never know where they might be hiding. In World at War You also get to drive some vehicles.
The different types of weapons and ability's are pretty cool. You have the options of a primary weapon that could be a assualt rifle, machine gun, sub machine gun, shotguns , and rifles for long range kills. Along with these weapons you get attachments like scopes, bayonets, silencers, and grenade launchers. Then you have the option of a secondary gun which is a pistol unless you have a certain ability that allows you to carry multiple primary weapons. Next would be grenades, or special grenades that you can even drop when you die. Last you have the options of perks. These include abilities like steady aiming for sniping, having your bullets do more damage, or not appearing on the radar along with other perks. But if I told you it wouldn't be a surprise. However this is for on line only.
Compete against millions of people as you have to rank your way up in order to receive better weapons and better upgrades on-line. This is where the real game play comes in. Start with some petty weapons and upgrades, then work your way to power full Machine guns, explosives, and abilities as you level up by winning, killing, and doing mini objectives. When you kill certain amounts of people without dying you get special abilities. If you kill so many people without dying you can use 3 different abilities. With the options of radars 3 kills to know where your enemies are. Or maybe you want to lay down an artillery strike 5 kills. Or if you get to 7 kills without dying you get the attack dogs which are very vicious, you will here people yelling about the dogs. This game will keep you entertained for more then you expect. Leaving a dent in your social life. This game has a outstanding on-line play. Leaving you to want more. I spent so much time on-line for this game that my friends were complaining for me to get a life. Once I would put down the controller and turn my cheek my friends would be playing instead.
So you can take control of a awesome firefight in some villages or a ambush in the jungle. I highly recommend this game to others you will be playing this game quite a bit. Enjoy rich sounds of a rocket flying over your head while the roar machine guns are coming from everywhere. For the most part the sound works really good, they really got some great sounds, and great music, but, some people have audio troubles on their computers. I haven't heard of this being common so it's most likely there computer. The surround sound sound's great but if your not into bad language so this might be some problems to some that don't like bad language.
