Awesome Features make for an almost perfect phone!
Date of Review: Dec 23, 2002
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want a cool phone for a teen/college student or for someone on the go and looking for features!
I recently purchased the T68i phone from AT&T. I paid around $100 for it with a discount. It was originally $200.
I love the phone and the color feature is nice. There are lots of neat pictures to buy or to download to your phone for free via the web service. Each ring and each picture can be assigned to a different caller which is fun and nice.
The web feature can be addicting with all the games and other fun things to do so make sure not to rack up a large bill!
The games on the phone are not the best....too many card games and the others are battleship, contrary, and erix. (similar to jezzball on the PC)The picture drawing program is pointless...you cant make anything that doesnt look like some wacked out Etch-A-Sketch drawing. The sound composer is fun and if you know what you are doing than it's useful.
The joystick nobby can be a bit of a pain sometimes. When trying to press it down (which means enter) it sometimes mistakes it for meaning up, down, or sideways. It's a very compact design so its not for those with bad sight or weak fingers.
I use the handsfree and voice recog. a lot. I have only had it confuse a number once. It's a pretty handy little gadget. I hate Nokia's so I wanted to go with something a little hipper and a little trendy so this was it.
The camera for the phone is really cute and really nice and runs about $100. It takes great pictures just like a regular digital would but I have heard that when printed they are poor quality. If you plan on keeping them on your phone or emailing them they are fine.
I have heard that a family plan for the GSM and ATT will be out soon as well as faceplates and other personalized items.
I have dropped the phone once or twice and there are a few chips in the phone which is not the best thing. I am a bit upset about that but hopefully i can buy a faceplate pretty soon.
