Awesome Phone!
Date of Review: Sep 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would reccomend this phone for everyone. It's a great music phone and there's not much at all to hate about it.
I have owned the Sony Ericsson W300i for almost a year now and to this day I still love it. It is a GREAT music phone with great audio quality. It could be better if it supported more audio formats though. It is also good with photos. Of course the camera is not like a digital camera but for a mobile phone it is still pretty good. When upgraded with a memory stick, it's so much better. You can keep a collection of your favorite media with you anywhere you go. Transferring your media can be done by connecting your phone to a computer via USB or plugging the a memory stick into a computer memory stick slot. If you connect a headset with the phone you can access the FM radio which is built into the phone. The radio picks up great in most places but I have had trouble with it before.
My phone has been through some pretty abusive drops but it is still working very well. Over time the only thing it has developed is some scratch marks on the exterior of the phone. All of the hardware inside of the phone is still great. I am always on my phone either talking or texting and the battery takes very well to that. I have used my phone without charging it for about 2 days while talking in excess of 5 hours each day along with texting. The battery charge life is great in this phone. I have also used the phone to listen to music for hours straight and the battery was still doing great.
I have never had the opportunity to use the phone to browse the Internet so I don't know how it does with that. I also did not use the VideoDJ or PhotoDJ applications enough to judge them. The MusicDJ is an OK application for creating MIDI ringtones or music beats. The menu is easy to navigate as is everything else on the phone. It's support for games is also great. I mainly play Tetris but it does support 3D games and a lot of them are fun. My friends all complain when using my phone to call or text someone due to the number keys having an overlapping design. I haven't had a problem adjusting to it but everyone else hits more buttons than they intend.
This is a great phone especially for music lovers! I highly recommend it for anyone.
