Star Wars at It's Best
Date of Review: Mar 15, 2000
I have to congratulate Lucas Arts for making this great games that incorporates the ever continuous stream of games involving the war against the Rebel Alliance and the evil Galactic Empire. This game goes back to the days after the first death star was blown up by the famous Luke Skywalker. Shortly after, Luke was entered into Rogue Squadron, a squadron of the best fighters of the alliance that can take on any challenge. Of them includes the ever famous Wedge Antilles.
In this game you are put into different battles from rescue missions to bombing missions, you must help the Rebel Alliance on over fifteen missions that are occuring on different planets throughout the Star Wars Galaxy. You are able to fly many craft that the Alliance has that is able to fly. They do restrict you of some craft during all the missions. You can fly X-wings, Y-wings, A-wings, Speeders and even the V-wing. All these of crafts and some special ones like the Millenium Falcon via code are also flyable.
The control in the game is very, and there were very few glitches in the game. The firing system can be a bit slow at times and the missle shooting system can be confusing at times, but the game's fun factor, dismisses all of these little problems.
There are of course many enemies that you must fight: Tie fighters, Tie Bombers, AT-ST, AT-AT, Probe Droids, Laser Cannons, etc.
This is one game that you do not want to miss if you like sim games or Star Wars games.
